Electromagnetic /Ground Penetrating Radar Detection
DURKIN will:
- Obtain, analyze and consolidate the individual utility drawings available from "Dial Before You Dig" as well as any relevant drawings provided by the client;
- Inspect the site and note the position of all relevant pits and junction boxes.
- Use ElectroMagnetic Locators to identify potential utilities and track each individual utility in direct connection or induction modes;
- Confirm the position and depth of services already located with ElectroMagnetic equipment using Ground Penetrating Radar and locate any non-metallic ducts/pipes previously undetected;
- Scan water, gas and sewer lines with pit location equipment to determine if any pits are buried;
- Mark out the plan position and estimated depth of each utility detected in colour co-ordinated paint, or by the insertion of colour co-ordinated pegs in natural soil;
- Draft a sketch of the location of the utilities referenced to the infrastructure on site.
A combination of ElectroMagnetic and GPR Location works can detect all types of cable, ducts and pipes.
Electromagnetic /Ground Penetrating Radar Detection - Additional Services
If Autocad drawings are available of the site, DURKIN can superimpose the location of each utility/pipe onto the drawing and produce a table indicating the location and depths.
DURKIN can also undertake a full topographical survey of the site and produce Autocad plan and cross-sectional drawings of the site.
DURKIN can also conduct non-destructive surveys of re-bar position and depth in reinforced concrete with specialized GPR equipment.
Potholing
Potholing may be required to support the results of the electronic survey works.
DURKIN have the equipment and personnel to quickly and safely excavate the pavement/soil above the suspected service positions.
Pothole logs will be prepared for each pothole indicating the type and depth of each material encountered and the depth to the top of the service.
Pavement Investigation and Design
DURKIN can:
- Identify the optimal pavement investigation program commensurate with the level of risk and available budget;
- Manage the pavement investigation program;
- Discover the root cause of existing pavement failures.
DURKIN can:
- Design new pavements as well as pavement rehabilitation works;
- Recommend the most appropriate construction techniques, specifications, and contractual arrangements to realize the design expectations.
Construction Management
Project Scoping
DURKIN will work with the client to develop a scope of works and contract program that will enable contractors to maximize productivity and hence reduce cost whilst improving the quality, safety, and environmental performance of the works.
Project Management
DURKIN can provide Project Management services, with onsite supervision to ensure that the works are delivered to budget, on time, to the desired quality, without injuring anyone, affecting the environment or unnecessarily disrupting the local residents.
